Adam McQuire must arrest Kailey Woolridge for negligent driving for her bizarre race through town, but now he can't get the wealthy real estate broker out of his mind.  He finds her story too incredible to believe, until he finds out she's telling him the truth.

Soon he discovers more about Kailey than he wanted to know, but he doesn't understand what to do when he finds himself falling hard, only to learn she has obligations that prevent any thoughts he might have of a permanent relationship with her.  Worst of all, he can't bring himself to reveal his secret whereabouts, or the other life he lives.

He needs to protect Kailey from the psycho stalker bent on killing her, and from her loyalty to an overbearing family.  He's just not sure how.

He dares to risk his heart again when she keeps saying no, but doing so is liable to get them both killed.

Thrilling suspense!
This is a wonderful, thrill a page story.  From the opening naked speeder scene through to the epilogue, I was right there, into the action.

The characters were definitely well written, and even Frank did his job to perfection.  I sure didn't guess who the antagonist was.

Kailie was a strong woman with a heck of a lot of problems.  Adam is a hottie and just the perfect alpha male type for her.  And his parents were a hoot.

Definitely well worth the read, Great job Lee!

Kailie Woolridge finds herself the victim of a crazed lunatic. A real estate agent, she was attacked while doing an open house by herself, and left tied up as the house burned around her. Kailie managed to escape, but her attacker gets away. Fearful and needing moral support she realizes her life is still at risk, and turns to Adam McQuire, a cop who arrested her for speeding to keep her fears at bay.
Adam McQuire stares in disbelief when a routine traffic stop brings him to the side of a car that has not only been reported stolen, but also has a naked woman driving. Upon arresting Kailie for reckless driving he learns she has been the victim of a heinous crime, and vows to find the person responsible for attempting to murder her. Although Kailie's family tries to keep her and Adam apart because of his lack of social status, she is a grown woman who needs to learn to stand on her own two feet. Adam fights a strong attraction to the wealthy real estate agent while keeping his heart safe. As Adam loses his battle with love, Kailie pushes away from her family to become his girl. Can they overcome the odds and become a couple?
HOT ROD'S LAW opens with a killer scene in which Adam finds Kailie speeding through a neighborhood naked. The well written opening gives a visual picture of the rough, rugged cop harassing the wealthy heiress that will keep the reader wondering how they can relate to each other. As Adam fights his memory of Kailie nude, author Lee Emory leaves a lot to the imagination, while giving just enough hints of sensuality to keep the reader in wondering what really makes Adam fall in love.
Ms. Emory has created a story filled with suspense and characters that make this novel a graphic and memorable experience. Her characters come alive, with emotion giving the reader a well painted picture. Kailie's father, Frank, is an overbearing man who would make the perfect villain. Ms. Emory has created a character the reader will love to hate, yet turns him around at the end to give the story a happy ending. The surprise villain is a nice touch that will delight the reader and keep alive the wonder at how the signals get crossed. I highly recommend this novel to any lover of suspenseful romance.
