Reviews
Brisk, yet gentle as a lake breeze, this tender tale of
second chances will revive your belief in the happily ever after!
Extraordinary storytelling!"

~Pamela Johnson, White Eagle's Lady Echelon Press
"Robin Bayne has a way of making you wonder if two people can ever
overcome the unforgettable pain of betrayal and finding one another
again.  Her style is refreshing and her characters believable.  I
couldn't put it down!"

---Lori Soard, Author
First of all, I thought the legend of Cougar Lake very appropriate as a legend between two people who loved and lost each other in tragedy. In my opinion, legends of love are legends to learn from in this case it's love that never died and even when there are others who separated them, they remain true to whom their hearts were devoted to. This is true love and it warms my heart. Another dominant theme in  Cougar Lake is forgivenessTami forgiving Cami for what she did.

An accident stole Tia and Colt's love and threatened to steal their heritage.  The Cougar and Cardinal inn.  Eight years later after battling amnesia and coming home to rebuild the neglected inn they are forced together again as Colt's inn needs Tia's money to keep from being auctioned off.

Working together they must not only grow enough to overcome the consequences of the decision's and mistakes they made.  But they must also battle the mistakes of their parents past.  Their determination to save the inn causes them to grow.  As they face the guilt, overcome their fear, and forgive they find a new love.  Stronger than the first.

I liked this book.  The characters are very real.  Some of the twists are so unexpected you get caught up in the book.  Each page leaves you wondering what Robin has written on the next page.

Young, and in love, Tia Fauncini and Colton Reese hoped to share their lives together. All that changed when Tia and Colt were injured in a boating accident; Colt losing his memory along with his career as a pilot, and Tia losing Colt to her scheming sister, Cami.

Eight years later Tia and Colt are back at the inn where they grew up. After the accident, Colt believed everything Cami told him, and left Tia hurt and angry.Colt's memory is restored, and with it his love for Tia. Now part owner of the Cougar and Cardinal Inn with Tia, Colt can't explain the reasons for the choices he made. But Colt plans to fight for Tia, and the love that still grows strong. Can she ever forgive him for the choices he made back then?

Tia knew what she was getting into when she bid on Colt's grandmother's old inn. She plans to keep it strictly business but finds it hard to do when Colt is around all the time. Tia and her sister, Cami aren't on speaking terms, and if Cami discovers Tia is with Colt, their relationship will end before it begins. Each day Tia finds it harder and harder to stay away from Colt and the questions she wants answers to. Well, one question really...Why did you choose Cami over me?

COUGAR LAKE is a moving tale of love lost and rediscovered. Colt and Tia are multilayered characters who are protecting their hearts from being hurt again. The heartbreak Tia suffers over her sister's relationship with Cole, touched this reader's heart deeply. I could feel TIA and Colt's pain as if it were my own. I must admit I would have enjoyed a bit more background information surrounding the accident, what Cami's reasons were for what she did and so on. COUGAR LAKE is great without those things, but I would have loved it. <g> Watching them work day by day to fulfill their dream, yet keeping each other at arm's length, I just wanted to shake them both and lock them in a room together.

Ms. Bayne writes a wonderful story with characters so life-like, you expect to see them next door. COUGAR LAKE is well-written and a quick read. Once you start reading it, you can't put it down. For a sweet romance to curl up on the couch with, get your copy of COUGAR LAKE today. I heartily recommend it.

hard it is to overcome betrayal.  Tia is trying to forget the betrayal of
Colt and her sister in order to make the Inn what she wants.  Colt has
feelings of guilt because of his betrayal of Tia with her sister.  They both
have to come to terms with the past and then let it go.  This is a
well-written plot and will easily hold the interest of the reader.

"Robin Bayne did a stellar job with Cougar Lake. Colt
and Tia were terrific characters who never tiptoed
into melodrama, despite his amnesia and Tia's greedy
sister wanting Colt for herself. While not a suspense,
there is enough mystery hinted at throughout to keep
readers turning the pages."

Romantic Times Magazine
COUGAR LAKE is a sweet romance that challenges you to
forgive past hurts and start anew. Robin Bayne has
done a fabulous job of creating wonderful characters
with almost insurmountable conflict. I loved Tia's
character. Though wounded by the two people she loved
most, she presses on and doesn't allow bitterness to
sway her from accomplishing her dream, even when it
requires her to work daily with Colton Reece. A
shocking dark moment makes you truly feel there's no
way possible for the hero and heroine to ever be
together. A well-written story, realistic dialog, a
unique plot, and a conniving antagonist, make COUGAR
LAKE a highly enjoyable read.

After reading Cougar Lake this reviewer only has one
thing to say: Fabulous! Robin Bayne has written a
story that makes me a believer of love and second
chances. The memories Colt and Tia had for each other
was the thing that bonded them together made this
story nice. You have the emotions that make a love
come true, the anger and pain caused by the betrayal
of a sister, but most of all, the hope of a chance to
love again without any interruptions.

If you have never read a story by Robin Bayne before,
The Cougar and Cardinal Inn, is great to start first.

"Cougar Lake" Review
I loved everything about Robin Bayne's, "Cougar Lake": the title, the location, the characters, and the writing! Ms. Bayne has the ability to write with an authenticity that makes you believe she has experienced whatever her characters experience. As someone with retrograde amnesia, I totally believed Colt's feelings and reactions as he emerged to the reader as a recovering amnesiac. His ability to be manipulated, his hesitancy, and his tentativeness are all trademarks of amnesia Ms. Bayne weaved into the story with startling accuracy. Amnesiacs must rely upon the honesty of other's memories and proffered information. Utilizing that vulnerability, Ms. Bayne successfully writes a tale of betrayal of that delicate trust, and takes the reader captive as she exposes the aftershocks of Cami's breach of faith. "Cougar Lake" is a wonderful romance, but it also possesses the "I wonder what's going to happen next" quality of an intrigue novel!
