Synopsis & Reviews
Bad Hair Day
by
Nancy Darryl
Hannah Hailstone’s split ends are a
divining rod for disaster...
Hannah just found a sexy man in the back seat of
her car—semi-conscious and bleeding, but at least
he has a pulse. Her father, a James Bond wannabe
with a penchant for gambling, has disappeared. And
there’s a man in a pink Cadillac tailing her hippy
artist mother. Hannah’s plans to re-read her Nancy
Drew Mysteries—the vintage, hard cover collection
—have changed. Now she’s got a real mystery on
her hands.
Cooper West is on a losing streak...
Robbed, beaten and on the run from thugs, Cooper
is down on his luck. Somebody just tapped danced
on his face and stole his precious motorcycle. Now
he’s a drifter whose wings have been clipped, so he’s
got a reason to stay in town a while. And he just found
another one. Hannah’s funky hair and her talent for
swan diving into hot water make a fascinating
combination.
And bad news travels fast!
Someone is out to get Cooper, and Hannah’s a sucker
for strays. But when his bad luck tangles with her
bad hair, it jump-starts a bumpy ride through the tunnel
of love.

RRAH's THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS:
What I like about Nancy Darryl books are her unusual storylines. Like HERE LIES LOVE, BAD HAIR DAY has a lot of twists and turns and goes where you don't expect it to go. I especially liked the heroine, Hannah. She's funny, she's brave, and she has exceptionally bad hair. It's hilarious.
Cooper is not your average hero. I wasn't sure I liked him at first—except that he resembled Heath Ledger—because he was mechanic and he drove a Harley (Heathcliff never drove a motorcycle!). But that's okay, he redeemed himself many times over and turned out to be a wonderful man with whom I wanted Hannah to fall in love. The rest of the cast is zany and fun.
I recommend BAD HAIR DAY!

Some days it just doesn’t pay to get out of bed. And then there are those BAD HAIR DAYS…
Hannah only wanted to eat her burger and delicious fattening French fries. What she got instead was a man, who had been busted up pretty good, in the backseat of her car. She will rush him to the hospital in a panic, but it will not end there…
From the moment Hannah lays eyes on this strange injured man in her car, he will start a chain reaction of mysteries, whodunit and murder. This all seems to affect her hair—a bad hair day that is.
BAD HAIR DAY is by authoress Nancy Darryl. Okay, now that this reviewer has stopped laughing long enough to write this review—what a hoot and a totally entertaining tale Ms. Darryl has crafted. This pristine mystery will keep you glued and laughing from the moment you crack open the spine. This author’s writing is smooth as glass and sharp as a razor’s edge in terms of her fluid writing style and snappy wit. Every part of this novel works from the flawless dialogue to the scenes that blend effortless.
It is one of the best contemporary/humor books that this reviewer has read this year!
Hannah’s personality is tough, sharp tongued, yet feminine at the same time. Her witty repartee will keep you in stitches. She just wanted to live her life, but things just do always go the way we planned. Hannah has always been a sucker for the underdog and stray animals, so no wonder she cannot stop thinking about this poor, handsome man. Their attraction and sexual tension is threaded hot and heavy throughout this book.
By getting involved with him, Hannah will become part of a larger more sinister plot than she could ever have realized. Along with all of danger and mystery now in her life, she will have to deal with her parents, where she is more like the adult, and they need her guidance. Should that not be the other way around?
The further you get into this novel the better it gets!
