The Road to Jude
by
Michelina Pagano
Set against the backdrop of 9/11

It's September 11th. A young woman wakes up in an existence she can't explain. She has no memory of who she is or how she got there. Venturing out into an unfamiliar world that consists of a concrete pavement and nothing else, she meets a nameless fireman and calls him Hero because she feels it's appropriate in some inexplicable way. He names her Pretty One.

Together these lost souls, each without their identity, embark on a journey through a bewildering yet magical realm with no familiar signposts or landmarks. It's a world rich with symbolism and mysterious encounters, from paper snow to drinking the "Cold Truth," a little boy named Possibility to a deserted beach where shoes fall from the sky. Each new encounter is a question answered and a question asked.

In their quest to find their true selves, they come to realize that time and space are relative; that things can still exist even without a name. Each turn of the road presents a challenge to friendship and courage. When Pretty One finally fulfills her destiny, she discovers the true meaning of life, death and hope.

"The Road to Jude is an excellent crafted book that will take you on an imaginary, but possible, journey of a young woman after September 11. This book is a must read and a true inspiration to anyone who has lost someone dear to them. For anyone who has ever wondered about the importance of your life, or your affect and contribution to another persons life. For those of us who have wondered what happens to our departed loved ones, asking ourselves: “Where are they now? Do they feel my love? Can they see me? Do they know how much they meant to me?”"
-Selena Robins, author of Sabrina's Destiny

"I found this book a very original and superb piece of literature. The Road To Jude promises and carries itself with purpose. The author, Michelina Pagano, does not let the reader down. From start to finish, the drama of the work is constant. The author excellently keeps the reader's attention."
- Jim Bless, Round Table Reviews

Mankind is spiritual, and author Michelina Pagano speaks to that side of the reader in this unique story. She uncovers the veil to the unknown, calling her audience to a deeper walk among what is not seen with the human eye. No one can read this book and just walk away from it. The deeper message presented will tug at the very soul of the reader, as it soothes the hurt places.

The Road to Jude is a “heart-hug” of hope.

A wonderful story for those who believe in the hereafter or not, touching all who remember that fateful day. The story reminds one to take a moment to realize that miracles happen, and did, and know that somehow the spirits of so many will continue to live on and be there for us if we look in our hearts. I highly recommend this book.

September 11th, 2001, gave America a wake-up call. That tragic day will
forever be etched in hearts, minds and souls. Pretty One doesn't remember who she
is or where she came from. The concrete highway before her leads to nothingness, until she finds her Hero. The man dressed in sooty firefighter's garb makes her feel safe and not quite so alone.Their travels take them to various places: a beach, an empty train station, a palace, a bar and finally to a party where Pretty One discovers strangers who recognize her. Pagano paints a fantastic allegorical journey that allows readers to put their own interpretation on life after death. The author shows that a heavenly hand guided those lost souls
that beautiful September morning.

---Romantic Times Book Club

THE ROAD TO JUDE is a strange yet enlightening allegorical tale that grips the audience from the moment Pretty One realizes she is alone on a cement jungle and never slows down until the journey on THE ROAD TO JUDE is completed. Readers will comprehend the whys of a wonderful metaphysical tale that delves into the spirituality of humanity.

5 STARS - HARRIET KLAUSNER, REVIEWER

Michelina Pagano has written a wonderfully symbolic story against the backdrop of 9/11 that focuses on the love of Spirit rather than the anger of human beings. This is a story that all who are still haunted by the falling papers and the falling bodies need to read. For those who don't know or understand what happened on that day, this story will speak to your soul as only a great storyteller can.
