Kachina
by
Virginia Nosky
The flight attendant on Flight 406 from Kennedy International to
Phoenix asks Will Severance if he will take the window seat to
accommodate a nervous passenger.  He obligingly moves over.  After a moment he senses the woman watching him.  He glances over and a jolt hits him in the gut.

"Hello, Will.  It's been a while."

When New York fashion designer Susan Waring returns to Phoenix to
settle her late husband's affairs, she becomes increasingly puzzled over unexplained correspondence. Together with difficult decisions about his extensive estate and the disposal of his enormous museum
quality collection of Native American art, she is desperate for legal advice.
Eerie tribal masks keep turning up and Susan reluctantly consults her ex-husband, Phoenix attorney Will Severance.  Never reconciled to their
divorce five years earlier, he quickly makes himself indespensable, hoping to rekindle the love that he knows never should have ended.
From New York to Phoenix, from the Hopi mesas to
Paris, Will and Susan uncover the corruption behind a worldwide traffic in tribal sacred art.

...a Phoenix story of murder and high-end art collecting.  I recommend it.
---Barbara Peters, The Poisoned Pen News

Nosky blends a suspenseful mystery with a sweet romance.  She's clearly researched the topic of Native American art and recreates it vividly with her words.  The conclusion of KACHINA is a real treat.
--- Romantic Times Magazine, October 2004

Take the mystery, the romance, the humor and the surprise and it's no surprise that reading Kachina was so entertaining.  It was fun to read.
